| Types "Couplings" and "Flectors" consist of 3 sections : - a central heat-resistant nylon bush, - 2 metal end-pieces with relatively large angular and lateral displacements. They ensure perfect insulation (7000 V) between potentiometers, contactors, trimmers coupled to each other or to other controls, whilst compensating for shafts misalignments. Each metal end-piece is available either as a shaft or as a coupling, couplings have either grub-screws or collet-nuts. A non-insulated all metal type is available, suffix M, with a nickel-plated brass central bush, designed for highter torques. In generalw, when transmitted torque highter than 50 Ncm are expected, it is advisable to use either collet-nut fixing or to rivet the coupling directly onto the shafts. Couplings of series 510& (similar to those of series 500&) are made with a central part in ryton and two parts in nickel-plated brass. *RYTON : Trademark of Phillips Petroleum |
